„Michal Fuchs’ two part installation is based on two historical and holy texts: the narrative of the sacrifice of Isaac in the Old Testament (Genesis 22: 1 – 19) and the narrative of the sacrifice of Ismael in the Quran (37: 99 – 111). One text has been written in Hebrew, the other in Arabic. The artist cuts the words of the respective fragments from metal plates, leaving only the punctuation. New cubic forms emerge from the cut out elements, striving towards one another and referring to the common origin. At the same time, the fragility of the relationship becomes evident, which evokes the question if the effective power of interpretations can be transformed.“
